A blistering batting display from Alex Hales and Ben Duckett, and career-best figures from Harry Gurney, helped Notts Outlaws to a commanding win over Derbyshire Falcons in the 2019 Vitality Blast.
After Hales and Joe Clarke amassed a quickfire half-century partnership, the right-handed opener was joined by Duckett to continue the assault on the opposition bowlers. Their 92-run partnership put the Outlaws in control of the clash, before Samit Patel and debutant Imad Wasim added the final floruishes.
In reply, the Derbyshire top order were menaced by Gurney, the left-armer removing Fynn Hudson-Prentice, Billy Godleman and Luis Reece, while Wasim secured the scalp of Wayne Madsen for his maiden Outlaws wicket.
In dismissing Matt Critchley and castling Jaques du Plooy, Gurney secured his first T20 five-fer, and added a pinpoint run-out of Alex Hughes to a fine body of work for the evening.
Dan Christian completed the run-out of Mark Watt in the final over as the Outlaws triumphed by 27 runs.
