Last time out

The Outlaws consolidated their position atop the Vitality Blast North Group in the last encounter between these sides at Trent Bridge.

Chasing 124 to win, Dan Christian saw his side over the line with fully five overs to spare as Notts chalked up their third successive T20 win.

Christian’s unbeaten 33 included two towering sixes, and completed a chase that got off to a blistering start thanks to Alex Hales.

The opener hit 44 from just 16 balls – a strike rate of 275.00 – to help the Outlaws break the back of the chase in the powerplay overs.

That Leicestershire could barely muster more than a run a ball from their 20 overs was largely due to miserly bowling from the Notts attack.

Jake Ball kick-started proceedings with the wicket of Harry Dearden in the third over, with the Mansfield-born seamer going on to take 2-17 from his four overs.

Imad Wasim’s return to green and gold saw him claim figures of 2-24, including a caught-and-bowled and a top-edge held in remarkable fashion by Chris Nash.

Steven Mullaney’s fielding was no less extraordinary, the all-rounder snaffling a sharp return catch to account for Foxes skipper Colin Ackermann.

Alongside Samit Patel’s removal of a dangerous-looking Gareth Delany, and Luke Fletcher’s castling of Ben Mike, it was a contribution which helped restrict the Leicestershire batsmen to a total the Outlaws looked certain to overhaul.
