The ticketing process for this year’s Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival is now underway, with Nottingham CAMRA’s flagship annual event set to commence at Trent Bridge on Wednesday 13 October.

The four-day festival at Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club’s iconic home venue, concluding on Saturday 16 October, will be the first of its kind for two years after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Those who are interested in attending can register their interest now at trentbridge.co.uk/CAMRA, with those who do so benefitting from a priority purchase window from 9.30am on Monday ahead of general sale two days later.

Diary clashes at the Motorpoint Arena and the redevelopment of Nottingham Castle sparked the search for a change of venue befitting the scale and prestige of the event, which has grown considerably in recent years with up to 20,000 customers expected to attend throughout the duration of the festival.

“We are delighted to have been invited to stage the festival at Trent Bridge,” said Nottingham CAMRA Chairman Steve Westby.

“I am sure customers will appreciate the opportunity to enjoy drinking quality beers and ciders in such historic surroundings. As an added bonus in these Covid aware times, the event will be held entirely outdoors, although mostly undercover.

“We expect demand to be high as it will be two years since it was last possible to stage this popular celebration of beer and cider, so securing spots at the earliest opportunity is strongly recommended.”

Trent Bridge, the historic home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, is ingrained in pub folklore with its founder, William Clarke, having married the landlady of the Trent Bridge Inn in 1837.

One year later, the adjoining field became the county’s premier cricket ground under his stewardship.

Sustained investment has cemented the West Bridgford venue’s position as one of six in England to host Test cricket, with the most recent instalment having taken place between England and India earlier this month.

“We can’t wait to welcome Nottingham CAMRA to Trent Bridge and we believe our unique venue will prove a fitting backdrop to this eagerly awaited event,” added Trent Bridge Commercial Director Michael Temple.

Those who are interested in attending can register their interest now at trentbridge.co.uk/CAMRA for early access to tickets from 9.30am on Monday 16 August. Tickets will be available for general sale from the same address from 9.30am on Wednesday 18 August.
