Nottinghamshire opened their Royal London Cup account with an 86-run victory over Warwickshire, set up by formidable red-ball duo Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed displaying their capabilities in the shorter format.

Brought together with the score 70-2, the pair shared a partnership worth 127. Slater departed for 86 whilst Hameed scored his maiden List A ton for the Outlaws at his first attempt.

The visitors went on to post 323, whilst the hosts were restricted in their efforts to chase the total by Lyndon James, who took 5-48 from his nine overs.
