A Nottinghamshire XI will face a side composed of players from the county’s Premier League on Sunday 13 June.

The game, to be staged at Caythorpe Cricket Club, was originally scheduled for Sunday 23 May but has been put back in order to assist with player availability.

The 50-over fixture will be played under Royal London Cup conditions with scorers and umpires also provided from within the recreational game.

A 12-man squad has been selected based on nominations received from Nottinghamshire Premier League clubs, and will face a team from the professional staff coached by Paul Franks.

“This is a really good opportunity for players from both sides to showcase their skills," said Franks.

"We are expecting a competitive game with some of the best cricketers in the county on show."

The NPL squad includes players from eight of the 12 clubs in the division and will be captained by George Bacon, the skipper of the reigning NPL champions, Kimberley Institute CC.

“It will be great to play alongside so many quality players that we are far more used to playing against,” said Bacon.

"We like to think we are a strong league and it will be great to test ourselves against what I am sure will be a good Nottinghamshire side.

“It is brilliant that we have been able to make this happen and I want to thank both the Notts Premier League and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club for getting fully behind the idea."
