Persistent precipitation put paid to any prospect of play on day two at Trent Bridge, with Nottinghamshire unable to recommence their first innings throughout.

Peter Moores’ men remain on their day one overnight score of 51-3, with hopes springing eternal of improved weather over the forthcoming weekend.

The soggy scenes were a bitter disappointment to all concerned as Trent Bridge welcomed members and supporters for a second time following their first return to the venue the previous day.

The gates will, once again, be thrown open at 10am tomorrow ahead of an 11am start and 104 overs scheduled in the day.
