Dan Christian made a brisk, unbeaten 30 as the Outlaws continued their Vitality Blast preparations with a T20 outing at Derby.

Christian hit 30 from 24 balls as Notts were dismissed for 134 by Derbyshire, with the hosts overhauling the target in the 16th over.

Sol Budinger (22 from 11 balls) and Ben Duckett (22 from 12) also played useful cameo roles with the bat, with George Scrimshaw securing five wickets from his four over allocation.

In reply, Jake Ball made two inroads into the Derbyshire line-up during the powerplay. First, the seamer induced new T20 captain Shan Masood into an ill-advised shot, the Pakistan international chopping on for 33, before removing Leus du Plooy for a first-ball duck with his next delivery.

The hat-trick ball was negotiated by Wayne Madsen, who would go on to make 38 from 33 deliveries. The Derbyshire stalwart found support from Harry Came, who brought up his half-century before standing on his own wicket while attempting to clip Ball through the leg-side.

It was left to Madsen and Brooke Guest to see the Falcons over the line with four overs to spare.
