Farhan Ahmed claimed four wickets as Durham were comprehensively beaten in their Second XI Championship clash against Notts at the Racecourse Ground.

The spinner lured an indecisive prod from Jonathan Bushnell (17), before going on to see off George Drissell (10), pin captain Ben McKinney (18) and bowl Will Gidman (29) to complete the innings triumph.

There were three wickets for paceman James Hayes, who had opener Harry Crawshaw (10) caught behind, saw Luke Doneathy (18) hole out and claimed a looping catch off his own bowling to account for Stanley McAlindon (2).

Fateh Singh added two further scalps, finishing with five in the match, while Toby Pettman also made a wicket-taking contribution as Durham were dismissed second time around for 194.

With McKinney having earlier been removed by Tom Loten to conclude Durham’s first innings on 227, before Notts enforced the follow-on, victory was ultimately secured by an innings and 60 runs despite day two of the clash having been lost to rain.
