Jake Ball applauded the efforts of his Nottinghamshire teammates for a plucky display after the hosts picked up five wickets against Warwickshire at Trent Bridge on day one in the LV = Insurance County Championship.
The seamer claimed two wickets of his own on his return to red-ball action having last played in September 2022, finding the edge of Rob Yates and bowling Will Rhodes.
The first took his tally of Nottinghamshire First-Class wickets to 200, having reached the 150 mark in T20 cricket this week.
