Mohammad Abbas and Liam Patterson-White each claimed two wickets as Nottinghamshire were forced to work hard on a third day full of toil against Hampshire at Utilita Bowl.
Tilak Varma hit 112, while three further Hampshire batters made half-centuries, with the latest to do so, Felix Organ, finishing unbeaten on 71.
However, there were snippets of joy for Notts, as Abbas and Patterson-White struck gold twice, before Lyndon James and Freddie McCann also claimed one apiece.
Hampshire closed on 367-6, still 211 in arrears, as the Green and Golds eye the possibility of asking the hosts to follow on during tomorrow’s final day.
