Ismail Mohammed claimed six wickets but Nottinghamshire 2nd XI were made to toil on a sweltering first day of their friendly against Mumbai Emerging Players.

Off-spinner Mohammed returned figures of 6/77, but the tourists were able to rack up 448 thanks to centuries from Musheer Khan and Manan Bhatt.

Shaariq Sheikh also claimed two wickets, including that of top-scorer Khan for 123, while Rob Lord and Joe Pocklington collected one apiece.

Having overcome 82 overs in the field, Notts were then put on the back foot to end the day, as Himanshu Singh took two wickets to reduce them to 10-3 at stumps.
