Sam Seecharan followed up his Vitality Blast first-team debut with a Second XI century as Nottinghamshire posted 330 against Durham in Gosforth.

Seecharan belted 104 from just 74 deliveries, striking 20 fours and a six, as the Green and Golds racked up their total in just 83 overs before reducing the hosts to 16-2 at stumps.

Captain Ben Martindale added 88 to share in an opening stand of 143 with Seecharan, while there were also contributions of 30 from Sammy King and 25 from Ismail Mohammed.

Callum Gaffney claimed a return of 5/66 for Durham as they eventually bowled Notts out, but the hosts ended the day in a sticky position after facing 11 overs before the close.

Olly Stone bowled an inch-perfect line to not concede a single run from the four overs he sent down, with his pressure telling when he pinned Luke Symington lbw for two.

Just four overs later, and with only one further run added, Wilfred la Fontaine-Jackson was then bowled by Tom Giles for 10, leaving the hosts to close 314 runs in arrears.
