Joe Clarke’s doughty 64 and Ben Slater’s foundation-laying 52 helped Notts fight back from a Yorkshire burst to set a solid platform on Day One at Headingley.

After posting 228, Notts began their reply with Mohammad Abbas striking early, taking two wickets to leave the hosts on 10-2 by the end of a of an intriguing first day.
