Top-order batter Ben Duckett has committed his future to Nottinghamshire by signing a new contract, extending his association with the club until the conclusion of the 2027 campaign.
Duckett, who has blossomed into one half of England’s go-to Test opening partnership under Brendon McCullum, has scored over 5,500 all-format runs since joining Notts in August 2018.
His First-Class numbers make for particularly striking reading, with 17 fifties and a further ten centuries, including three scores above 200, all made at an overall average north of 46.
He is a two-time trophy winner with Notts, having hit the winning runs, as part of a half-century, in the 2020 Vitality Blast final, as well as lifting the County Championship Division Two title two years later.
Upon putting pen to paper, Duckett said: “It was an absolute no-brainer to extend my time with Nottinghamshire.
“I love playing at Trent Bridge, it’s my favourite English ground, and this team and coaching staff are a fantastic group that have been so valuable for my development on and off the field.
“Playing for England has been a dream come true, but the role that Nottinghamshire have played in helping me to achieve that has been crucial.
“I’m delighted to stay here and play as much as I can, when I can, and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank this club for all that they’ve done for me.”
Nottinghamshire Head Coach, Peter Moores, added: “It’s great news that Ben has extended his contract at the Club.
“Though we might not see as much of him as before, he’s still a hugely valuable member of our squad.
“It has been a privilege to watch him develop over the years, and his desire to keep improving is a great example to our other players.
“His quality as a three-format player is not in question, and to have that level of player around the group - even when he’s not playing - is always a good thing.”
