As the Rothesay County Championship rolls on into mid-May, we are again offering you the chance to put your Nottinghamshire knowledge to the test.

Before every round of fixtures in this year’s Championship, you will be challenged to name a Green and Gold line-up from a memorable game against each 2025 opponent.

Ahead of Notts’ second away trip of the season, against Durham, it’s the first-ever game between the sides in the First-Class arena, that produced a sizeable innings win for the Green and Golds.

  1. Left-handed batter

Nottingham-born stylish opener who spent more than ten years with the Green and Golds before leaving for Worcestershire ahead of the 1999 season, and who became an umpire after retirement.

Fellow opener who had only a brief career in the First-Class game despite scoring three centuries in 22 matches for Notts and Derbyshire between 1992 and 1995.

Worksop-born batter who recorded 12 half-centuries for Nottinghamshire in 36 matches, before moving on ahead of the 1994 season to later play for Durham and Derbyshire.

Scorer of thousands upon thousands of First-Class runs for Nottinghamshire during a 20-year career after his debut in 1982, who very recently celebrated a notable birthday.

Long-serving veteran more renowned as an opener who played over 400 First-Class matches, including 29 Tests for England, who played on past his 40th birthday.

  1. Right-handed batter, right-arm fast-medium bowler

West Indian-born all-rounder who played 32 Tests for England between 1990 and 1996, in addition to three seasons with Nottinghamshire in between stints with Leicestershire and Surrey.

All-rounder who enjoyed an eight-year career in Green and Gold, scoring six fifties and taking two five-wicket hauls, and who is the father of a current Leicestershire all-rounder.

Uncle of a recent long-serving Notts bowler, who received a club benefit year in 1991 and played over 320 First-Class matches for the county, claiming 829 dismissals from behind the stumps.

  1. Left-arm off-spin bowler, right-handed batter

Former England Under-19 international who played six seasons with Notts, and who holds the record of all-time leading wicket taker in the Nottinghamshire Premier League.

  1. Right-arm fast- medium bowler

Long-serving seamer who played 15 seasons for Nottinghamshire, and who later joined the club’s coaching staff as bowling coach following retirement.

  1. Right-arm fast-medium bowler

Seamer who debuted for Nottinghamshire in 1992 before leaving to continue his career on the Minor Counties circuit in 1996, having taken 60 First-Class wickets in Green and Gold.
