Despite another impressive showing from captain Farhan Ahmed, this time with the bat, England Men U19s were again felled at the death as West Indies took a rain-affected six-wicket win in the second Youth ODI.

Batting at number seven, Ahmed top-scored with 46 not out from 51 balls, sharing in an unbroken stand worth 90 for the sixth wicket with Caleb Falconer, who made 42.

That had helped the tourists recover from a perilous 70-5 to total 160 without any further loss, before rain in Grenada ended their innings in the 32nd over.

With the interruption lasting two hours, the Windies were set a revised 191 to win from 31 overs, but ultimately made light work of the chase.

Openers Tyriek Bryan and Earshino Fontaine together added 84 in the first 17 overs to set a platform, before Jonathan van Lange proved the match-winner with 57 not out from 34 balls.

Jack Nelson was the pick of the attack, claiming 2/25 from seven overs and at one point orchestrated a clatter of three scalps in the space of 21 balls, including a run-out.

That left the hosts needing 90 from the final ten overs, but van Lange, on two off two at that point, masterminded the conclusion to strike five sixes and see his side over the line.
