Nat Sciver-Brunt will lead a 15-strong England squad that also contains Amy Jones on home soil for this summer’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Sciver-Brunt, 33, will captain her country on her seventh appearance at a T20 World Cup, with Jones, 32, set for her third showpiece tournament in the format.

Uncapped 18-year-old spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman has received a call-up, while Issy Wong and Lauren Filer are also selected in a T20 World Cup squad for the first time.

England won the tournament in 2009, which was both the inaugural event and the most recent time it was held on home soil, under the captaincy of now-Head Coach, Charlotte Edwards.

“It is a huge honour to be leading England into a T20 World Cup at home in front of family and friends and all our passionate supporters,” said Sciver-Brunt.

“We have all been looking forward to this summer and this tournament for some time now and the naming of the squad means it is almost here.

“We can’t wait to get out onto the field and give it everything to win this World Cup again.”

England’s first fixture against Sri Lanka will launch the tournament on Friday 12 June, before further games against Ireland on Tuesday 16 June and Scotland on Saturday 20 June.

Games against West Indies on Wednesday 24 June, and New Zealand on Saturday 27 June, round out England’s group games, before the knockout stages begin on Tuesday 30 June.

The final, which is the culmination of 33 matches to decide the world champions, is then scheduled for Lord’s on the afternoon of Sunday 5 July.

Head Coach Edwards added: “There is no doubt that it has been incredibly tough to get to these 15 names.

“This is the hardest set of selection meetings I have been a part of, because the pool of players to choose from is so strong and so many talented players have put their hand up.

“An ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on home soil is a special moment for the game in this country.

“We are all really motivated by what could be ahead for this group of players and what they can achieve this summer.”

In addition to the World Cup squad, Sciver-Brunt and Jones are also included in a 20-strong squad for a Metro Bank ODI series against New Zealand that follows the tournament.

Kira Chathli and Jodi Grewcock have received their first call-ups for that series, while Mahika Gaur, Emma Lamb, and Em Arlott are the other additional faces from the World Cup squad.

Additionally, Edwards’ side will then face two Vitality IT20 series, against the White Ferns and India, with the squads for those assignments identical to the World Cup group.
