Head Coach Peter Moores said that Nottinghamshire’s crushing three-day victory over Surrey, 11 months on, felt “as significant as last year’s” win at the Kia Oval.
Moores sang the praises of his players after the Green and Golds turned in a performance to be proud of that showcased grit, panache, and spirit in equal measure.
Having been dismissed for 184 on the first day despite Liam Patterson-White’s 76, the visitors roared back to take a 22-run first-innings lead thanks to Olly Stone’s 6/44.
Stone then picked up four more second innings wickets to record his second-ever career ten-for, bowling the Brown Caps out for 183, far short of their victory target of 329.
Moores expressed admiration for Stone and Patterson-White’s performances, while remarking about how key the victory felt in the context of a crucial run-in.
