Ben Slater has been named Nottinghamshire’s Championship Player of the Season.
The opener hit 228 runs across three Bob Willis Trophy innings for the Green and Golds, at an average of 76.00.
“When Ben’s on form, he has a presence about him that – in my opinion – makes him one of the best openers in the country,” said Assistant Coach Ant Botha.
“His challenge over time is to maintain that presence, which is exactly what he did so well this season. He was just churning out the runs.

“Having seen him have a good winter, I knew what he was capable of doing this year – and I was so pleased for him.”
Slater's season began with a two-match loan spell at Leicestershire, during which he made a career-best 172 against the Red Rose county.
Slater succeeds Luke Fletcher as the winner of Nottinghamshire’s red-ball award, after the seamer took the prize in each of the last two seasons.
