Captain Farhan Ahmed was again in the wickets as part of another economical bowling spell, but England U19 fell to a comfortable defeat in the seventh and final Youth ODI against West Indies in Grenada.

Ahmed picked up 2/37 from his ten overs, including the wickets of Tyriek Bryan and Joshua Dorne, as West Indies were dismissed for 213.

The additional two scalps made the 17-year-old England’s leading wicket-taker on the tour, with a total of 12 at 21.66 during his first experience of competitive international captaincy.

Both men were bowled, opener Bryan for 36 and Windies captain Dorne for four, while Alex French’s 3/21 made him the pick of the Young Lions attack.

However, that turned out to be more than enough for the hosts to record a 5-2 series win, as seamer Aadian Racha returned 4/21 from 6.1 overs to bowl England out for 154.

Charlie Falconer top-scored with 52, while Joe Moores contributed 37, but a challenging start that saw England reduced to 21-3 inside the first seven overs was never overcome.
