Batsman Chris Nash has been ruled out of Nottinghamshire’s next two Vitality Blast games with a shoulder injury, Head Coach Peter Moores has confirmed.

An x-ray has shown that the 35-year-old has damaged his right acromioclavicular (AC) joint.

Nash sustained the injury when landing awkwardly as he dived attempting to catch batsman Adam Hose in Notts Outlaws’ eight-wicket Vitality Blast defeat to the Birmingham Bears at Trent Bridge last night.

“I’m pleased to say it’s not as bad as we first feared, and it’s not a dislocated shoulder, but he will definitely miss the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire games,” said Moores.

“Chris has been assessed by our medical team, but he will go to see a specialist on Monday, so we will know more after that.”
