Nottinghamshire’s Seconds fell to a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Northants in their Second Eleven Championship tie at Lady Bay.

Resuming the final day just 29 runs ahead on 143-6, a knock of 69 from Liam Patterson-White and an unbeaten 55 from Connor Marshall helped Notts up to a total of 243.

A valiant 30 from number 11 Jack Blatherwick also added runs for the home side as they set a target of 129 for their visitors.

Jordan Cook and Blatherwick struck twice but they couldn’t prevent Northants from reaching their target from 21 overs.

Ricardo Vasconcelos top scored for the away side with 48.

Notts Seconds are next in action on Monday (August 13) when Yorkshire visit Lady Bay for another Second Eleven Championship encounter.
