Nottinghamshire First Class Debut – 16 September 2019 (Trent Bridge)

Joey Evison showed immediate promise on his First-Class debut for Nottinghamshire in September 2018, and will have ample opportunity to develop his talent after signing a three-year professional deal.

The 17-year-old became the first player born in the 2000s to represent Nottinghamshire when he turned out for his professional bow, and hit an assured 45 in his first innings in professional cricket.

Evison has followed in Matt Carter’s footsteps by making the transition from Lincolnshire cricket to a professional deal at Trent Bridge, and has been on Nottinghamshire’s radar for several years.

The right-hander chalked up a ton for Nottinghamshire’s Academy at the age of 15 in a Premier League fixture against Attenborough, and has progressed into the England Under 19 setup in the intervening years.

Evison was part of the national side which triumphed in the Plate Final in the 2019 U19 World Cup, and went on to impress in Notts' first fixture of 2020 against Derbyshire before injury curtailed his campaign.
